Ondrey Zintaer

Just like the first (let's call it) review, it was published Anthroportrait by ONDREY ZINTAER.
Shall we say something about him? Actually... What am I asking, this is my blog, not yours... I mean, if someone is reading this, but whatever... Once again, I'm just writing it for myself. I should really sort things out in my head..

First, could you introduce yourself and write a few words about you?

Present your project or projects.

My name is Ondrey Zintaer, I play electroacoustic music based on free improvisation (but with somehow prepared ideas) mainly on wind instruments (tenor and sopran sax, but also many flutes, harmonica and so) and synths, pedal noise and so. I try to incorporate to such music also my poetry singing. Im absolutely open to improvised playing with other musicians whenever and wherever.

The idea/ideology/theme or mission of your creation? Is there something like

that? Is there a hidden message in it?

I mentioned my poetry that is focused mainly to now days full of fear from future. Maybe this is the message what you are asking about. Music is a language of unspoken feelings. This is what I d like to say with my music. Maybe to share my fear and confusion. As I am older, I also think about something like hope of better time in future. Hence, I try to focus and also play sort of positive stuff.

How did you come to this genre specifically and why did you choose it as a

form of expression?

The story started with a diy paper zine ZINTAER focused to extreme forms of HC punk mainly powerviolence but also lot of experimental fusions with grindcore like Naked City and lately noisecore, harshnoise and also freejazz and so. Hence this was my focus. And after 300 pages I felt sort of empty. Those days I was really thinking about trying to create my own whatever that can be called music (for me noise or noisecore is music) and amazing coincidence was that also in these days wrote me cut-up harshpocallypse noiser NBDY and told me about how to easily start and so. Next day I bought the cheapest distortion pedal and connected my daughter keyboard. Next days I bought mixer and all cheapest echo, fuzz, distortion pedals and everything started. From that moment I think there wasn’t a single day that I wasn’t somehow connected to music, even just with my feelings. Another important part of my evolution was during the epidemy when I bought a saxophone and move my noise more to free improvised music.

When it comes to your work, which release are you most proud of, and what

would you recommend people to listen to? And why specifically that one?

Really hard to say. Choose your favorite on BANDCAMP.

How do you seek inspiration for your work? Is it hours of contemplation, or do

you just switch on and record?

Good question. Im also thinking about the process. Many time I have a feeling that everything was created just alone by its own. I was just looking at it how it comes from nowhere. It looks it is really a lot of thinking about some topics, some feelings, some verses, connections of words, connection of sounds of different instruments and so and so… and at the end it is the zen moment of turning on my recorder and everything is done.

Which musical endeavor (another project) would you like to recommend?

Music is extremely rich and colorful universe. Any underground music, home-made music, but also music from cultural venues, galleries, but also from philharmonic hall. And not only today. History is extremely full of great music. From that point is really hard to choose one project. Maybe some links that made me happy last days.
